Hyperliquid has enabled a new mark price calculation method for the pre-market, causing a sharp increase in XPL and WLFI funding rates.
BlockBeats News, August 28th. Earlier today, Hyperliquid implemented a new marking price calculation method for its pre-market perpetual contracts. This change resulted in a sharp increase in the WLFI and XPL funding rates, with WLFI's annualized funding rate rising from 11% to 100% and XPL's annualized funding rate rising from 11% to 800% at one point.
At the time of writing, XPL is currently trading at $0.66 on Hyperliquid, representing a 22.6% premium compared to the $0.538 price on Binance. WLFI on Hyperliquid is priced at $0.292, showing a 13.6% premium over the $0.257 price on Binance.
